BBTB2 Heritage or Family Challenge

The challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 is Heritage or Family.  I have had a school picture of my grandfather from 1898 for a few years now and this was a perfect excuse to scrap it.

This picture was given to my father by a neighbor who had had several copies made.  The names are all typed on the back.  I wanted to be able to frame the picture, but also remove it easily if we wanted to.  I found a frame from the cartridge called “The First Few Years”  that I felt would be big enough for the photo.  When the red frame on top of the tan background, I only put adhesive on the sides and bottom leaving the top free to slide the picture into.  The arrow box came from the same cartridge and I let the Cricut write the name using a free font called Telegram text.  The title came from Heritage and I cut it and the date from a bronze vinyl.  It was a quick page to do.  Picking out the paper took longer than it did to cut it.

  1. great layout ideas for this special picture. I have one just like it of my grandfather. I like the ideas you used for putting it together and the nameplate. Wonderful, it shows off the picture more than the embellishments – so classy

  2. What a wonderful photo to have! I have hesitated to scrap some of my vintage photos due to wanting to be able to take them out to see the back and I absolutely LOVE how you used the frame to be able to slide it out when needed. I am going to use that idea going forward!!!! Great layout!
