BBTB2 Challenge – Star Wars

A Star Wars challenge is up on Bitten by the Bug 2 in honor of May 4 (May the fourth be with you).  I chose to do a birthday card for my husband as he and the kids used to watch the Star Wars movies on videos (and later DVDs) together all the time.

This year my special family birthday cards are wiper cards.  You can find ways to do them online and Lori Whitlock has some cute ones too.  In the end, I made my own using basic shapes and score lines.  I downloaded a font from DaFont.com called Star Jedi and used it to make the front of the card which was cut out of yellow vinyl and black vinyl.  I did use the new offset feature on Design Space to do the “you” on the front.  After making an offset of the original word, I sliced the two which created this nice outline.  I downloaded an image of this old Yoda from the internet and used the print, then cut feature.  I tried to find an image on Design Space, but they all seem to be the new baby Yoda, which didn’t work with the message I wanted to make about being old. It is attached to a strip of acetate so that it pops up as you open the card.  The papers came from a Paper House pad called Hunting Paper and Park Lane’s Celestial.

Here is the wiper card in action.

Make your own Star Wars (or any project with stars) on your Circut and link it on the Bitten by the Bug 2 by May 9th.  The designers really have some cute projects there, so check it out.  May the Force be with you. – Denise

  1. Love, love, love!!! Great card for your “old” man and this card is so cool. I wish I could see the wiper in action. Dorlene

  2. Denise, this is great! I love how you incorporate so many techniques in your projects. And if you can’t find what you envision, you figure a way through it! You rock.
