BBTB2 – Something to Crow About

There is a new challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2 called Something to Crow About.  The rule is to use a crow or scarecrow in a project.  I searched through some of my older files and found this fun card from svgcuts.com .

This card is part of a kit called September Scenes Stand Up Cards.  I had purchased it quite awhile ago, but hadn’t made any of the cards, so this challenge was perfect for using one of them.  The card base was some green cardstock I had on hand and all the rest of the cardstock and papers were from my scraps which I keep stored by color in hanging files.  One thing I did notice about this file is that the website says it was created in 2010.  As such, it didn’t have score lines with it, but just said to fold where the instructions indicated.  Mary’s designs now have all of the score lines and videos on how things go together which is a big help.  One tip on the instruction sheet was to use raffia on the straw bale and coming out of the scarecrow’s arms and hat.  I didn’t have any of the right color, but was able to use my Spectrum Noir Markers on the white I did have to make the straw stand out. I also used a 3D embossing folder for the fence rails. This is a cute card and below is a top view to show how it stands up.

Make your own project with your Circut and include a crow or scarecrow, then link it up over at Bitten by the Bug 2 by November 7.  You can also get some wonderful inspiration by the rest of the design team. Happy Fall Y’all! – Denise

  1. I really love this scarecrow card and the folds of it. For some reason, I thought that I could only use a crow. Ugh! This is just adorable!
